Prof. Xiaodong Lee

Dr. Xiaodong Lee, Founder and Director of the Fuxi Institution, was the former President and CEO of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) and the former Vice President of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). Selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, Member of the 13th National Committee of the All-China Youth Federation, and awarded China’ s Outstanding Youth Medal by the State, Prof. Lee is the Vice President of the Internet Society of China (ISC), the Director, Research Professor and doctoral supervisor of the Lab for Internet Infrastructure of Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICT, CAS), and the Director and Professor of the Center for Internet Governance, Tsinghua University (THUCIG). At the same time, Lee is a member of the Global Future Council of the World Economic Forum, the Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace (GCSC), and the Global Information Infrastructure Commission (GIIC). In addition, he founded the China Internet Museum and the National Engineering Laboratory for Naming and Addressing Technologies. He helped realize ‘dotChina’, IDN domain name that represents China on the global Internet, being integrated into the global Domain Name System root zone; he served as the member of the IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) and contributed to the IANA stewardship transfer to the global multi-stakeholder community; and he also helped hold the World Internet Conference (WIC) and was elected into the High-Level Advisory Committee of WIC.
