In respect of technological research and development, the Fuxi Institution mainly focuses on developing key Internet technology. It works with the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences to undertake relevant research.

The Fuxi Institution is to research Internet technologies, evaluate network services, release the smart city digital bus index system, and promote the establishment of digital transformation technology engineering laboratories/research centers.
